Douglas won the VIP affiliate ticket pass from ABC Houston. He’s been bullied all his life for looking different — kids called him “Gorilla” and “King Kong” and it was very painful. Still today, it’s hard for Douglas to love himself, but “music makes you heal and helps you out with who you are.” He picked “Strange Fruit” especially for the Black community, “because we’ve gone through so much pain over the past few centuries. It’s time to bring awareness to it.”
