If you’ve ever wondered what the Rat Pack would have sounded like as rappers, a new residency coming to Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater in July will thoroughly answer that question.
“Pass The Mic Live!” will star New York hip-hop legends Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh. Each will take turns at a microphone passed by host DJ Cassidy, who is not a hip-hop legend and therefore, we must assume, is the group’s Joey Bishop.
“Just as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop united in Las Vegas to form the Rat Pack, one of the greatest shows of all time, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, and I will unite to create an experience that will go down in Las Vegas history,” Cassidy said in a statement.
Since Cassidy has toured with various “Pass the Mic Live” lineups since 2020, the brand has recognition in the hip-hop community. Still, he definitely should have titled this one “The Rap Pack.”
Tickets go on sale for the shows — set for July 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, and 20 — starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13 via ticketmaster.com.
Adele Remedies Postponed Gigs
Adele has rescheduled the “Weekends With Adele” dates she postponed due to illness in February. The 10 dates, which were due to take place at Caesars Palace in March, will now happen from Oct. 25-26 through Nov. 23-24.
Adele returns to her stage at the Colosseum in May. By the time her residency concludes in November, it will have logged 100 performances.
The 10 postponed shows were sold out, and the original ticketholders will be given first crack. If any tickets are left over, they will go on sale Monday, April 15 via ticketmaster.com.
Trumpeter Brian Newman, leader of the band featured in Lady Gaga’s “Jazz + Piano” residency at the Park MGM, will relaunch his “After Dark” solo residency for seven late-night dates this summer. The shows begin around 11:30 p.m. on June 19, 20, 26, 27, and July 3, 5, and 7 at the Nomad Library inside the Park MGM. As they have since Newman first launched the series in 2019, the shows will feature musicians, singers, burlesque dancers, and other variety acts through 2 a.m. and beyond. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, April 12 via ticketmaster.com.
Earth, Wind & Fire returns to The Venetian Theatre for seven shows from Oct. 9-19. Tickets, starting at $59.95 go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, April 12 via ticketmaster.com.
