On Saturday in towns and cities in all 50 states, protesters took to the streets to express their opposition to Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the never-ending transgressions of second Trump administration — as well as show their support for federal workers, immigrants, trans people, and numerous other groups and causes now being targeted by the government. Taken together, the “Hands Off” protests were the largest act of defiance yet against Trump’s second presidency, and came after a particularly tumultuous week in which Trump single-handedly destabilized the U.S. economy with his new sweeping tariff policies.
