The OnePlus Pad Go 2 brings a bigger display and 5G, the OnePlus Watch Lite lasts up to 10 days

Today, OnePlus focuses on value-for-money devices with the unveiling of the OnePlus 15R, plus a new Go tablet and a Lite smartwatch. We’ve covered the phone in a separate article – now let’s have a look at the tablet and watch.

OnePlus Pad Go 2

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 brings a larger 12.1” display, up from 11.35” on the original. It has the same 7:5 aspect ratio, which the company has dubbed “ReadFit”, but the new display is a bit sharper (284ppi). This is a higher quality panel to boot, with 98% DCI-P3 coverage, 900 nits HBM mode and Dolby Vision support for movies and TV shows.

Speaking of, the larger 10,500mAh battery (up from 8,000mAh) can last up to 15 hours of video playback and offers up to 60 days of standby. The battery supports the same 33W SuperVOOC charging tech as before and is capable of reverse charging.

The Pad Go 2 also gets a performance upgrade with the Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset. It’s a 4nm chip, compared to the 6nm Helio G99 that the original Pad Go used. The Dimensity chip features newer CPU cores (A78/A55 vs. A76/A55) and a newer GPU (Mali-G615 MC2 vs. Mali-G57 MC2).

OnePlus has enabled its powerful Open Canvas multitasking system on this affordable slate. Also, the optional stylus, which is called Stylo, offers low-latency, high-sensitivity drawing on the larger 12.1” display. It has a fast-charging battery – 10 minutes of charge is enough to use the Stylo for half a day. OnePlus’ OxygenOS offers a suite of AI tools including AI Writer, AI Recorder and AI Summary.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 comes in two colors: Lavender Drift and Shadow Black. The latter is available with optional 5G connectivity – it is also the first OnePlus tablet to have a SIM card tray, if you prefer that over eSIM.

Alternatively, the tablet can borrow the phone’s 5G connection. As long as your phone and your tablet are close to each other, the tablet can automatically connect through the phone. Compared to typical hotspot sharing, this system is 30% more power efficient.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 goes on pre-order today and will be available from OnePlus.com and partner retailers from December 24. Check out the prices below:

OnePlus Watch Lite

Despite the “Lite” moniker, the OnePlus Watch Lite has a premium build with a 316L stainless steel body that measures only 8.9mm thick. This is thinner than most smartwatches and is the thinnest OnePlus watch to date. The case is available in Silver Steel and Black Steel, both of which are paired with fluoroelastomer straps.

The watch has a 1.46” OLED display that can boost to 3,000 nits in Sports Mode. And if your sport of choice is in the water, the Aqua Touch feature can detect wet fingers.

Note that this isn’t a Wear OS watch, but instead runs a proprietary OS. There are some disadvantages to that, but there is a major advantage too – the battery lasts up to 10 days. And it’s quick to charge, in 10 minutes you get 24 hours’ worth of juice. The watch can be paired with both Android and iOS phones. Dual pairing even allows it to connect to two Android devices simultaneously.

The OnePlus Watch Lite supports 100+ workout modes, 12 of which are labeled “professional sports modes”. These include running, tennis, skipping rope and badminton. The Badminton Mode analyzes swing speed, shot distribution and stroke type.

The Running Mode takes advantage of the accurate dual-band GPS tracking (L1/L5) and introduces the new lactate threshold detection feature. For workouts in the gym, the watch can broadcast your heart rate to compatible equipment.

The watch offers advanced health tracking and wellness modes as well. There’s a 60-second Wellness Overview feature. Sleep tracking analyzes blood oxygen, breathing and heart rate overnight. Skin temperature is also taken into account. Heart health insights include heart rate, resting heart rate and SpO2 detection.

Like the tablet, the OnePlus Watch Lite goes on pre-order today and will be available from December 24. The watch costs £180 / €180 and you can get a charging base for £30.

During the pre-order period, you will get a £20 discount and free OnePlus buds worth £80 (though stock is limited). There’s a £20 trade-in bonus too, plus an extra 10% discount for verified student and corporate buyers.

Note that you can pair your OnePlus 15R purchase with the Pad Go 2 and get a 35% discount on the tablet. If you pick the watch, then the Watch Lite will have a 40% discount. Additionally, there’s a 2-in-1 cable (that charges the phone and watch simultaneously) available at half price.
